Groups

 

Groups are used to create and edit group permissions. Groups are used to create certain groups of users that all have the same permissions, such as scale operator, purchasing, receiving, etc.

The following information is contained in the Groups document:

Create Group

  1. In Admin>Systems>Permissions, select Groups.
  2. The Permission Groups screen will display all current groups. Click the button to create a new group.

General

The General section contains the name of the group.

 

  1. In the User Group field, enter a name or code to identify the group (alphanumeric, max 50 characters).
  2. In the User Group Description field, enter a description for the new group.

Details

If the user has access to only specific facilities and functions, then the facilities they have access to must be selected.

 

The Details section is comprised of five tabs:

 

Facilities

The Facilities section displays all available facility profiles with a description of each.

 

  1. Click the Selected flag for all of the facilities the group has access to.

 

Functions

The Functions tab displays all available function profiles.

 

  1. Click the Selected flag for all of the functions the group has access to.

 

Products

The Products tab displays all available products with a description of the product type.

 

  1. Click the Selected flag for all of the product categories the group has access to. Product Categories must be set up in Admin>Business>General>Definitions>Product Categories prior to being selected in this screen.

 

Screens

The Screens tab displays all screen profiles.

 

  1. Click the Selected flag for all of the screens the group has access to.

 

Scales

The Scales tab displays all available scales with associated cost center.

 

  1. Click the Default Flag to indicate which scale is the default scale. This will default when the user creates a transaction that uses weigh scales.
  2. Click the Selected flag for all of the scales the group has access to.
  3. Click to save the permission group.
