Divisions provide sub-groupings within a company to separate reporting units in a logical fashion. It is necessary to create at least one division. The following are some items that may be taken into consideration in regards to setting up multiple divisions.
Divisions are species specific
Divisions are assigned to cost centers which are subsequently assigned to farms and facilities
Divisions are associated with an growout area.
Divisions must operate with either Imperial or Metric units of measure, not both
Divisions must assign a currency to a division (Note that in versions greater than 7.26, currency will be assigned in Companies)
Divisions that are assigned to different companies will automatically generate intercompany sales and purchase transactions for product that is transferred between companies

Prior to creating a division, the following item must be created:
Divisions are used to identify all transaction in the system, however only assigned to the following:
In Admin>Business>General>Definitions, select Divisions.
Select to create a new division.
Enter a Division No to uniquely define the division.
Enter a Division Name as a description for the division.
Use the drop-down arrow to select Species Type. Options available are Chicken, Layer, Swine or Turkeys.
Use the drop-down arrow to select Measurement. Options available are Imperial or Metric units.
Select the Currency No to determine the currency assigned to the division. Transactions that use a different currency will create multi-currency transactions. Currencies codes must be created prior to selection. (Note that in versions greater than 7.26, the currency will be assigned in Companies).
Currency Name will populate based on the selected Currency No
Select a Company No from the drop-down list. Companies must be created prior to selection. Note that divisions assigned to different companies will create intercompany transactions where intercompany sales and purchases are generated.
Select Business Unit No from the drop-down list. Business Units must be defined prior to selection. Business Units are optional and only used to group divisions for reporting purposes. This option is only available in versions greater than 7.26.
Business Unit Name will default based on the selected Business Unit No.
Enter Address 1 the first line of the address as it is required to appear on forms.
Enter Address 2 the second line of the address as it is required to appear on forms. (Optional)
Select a City from the drop-down list for the division. Cities must be created prior to selection.
Select a State from the drop-down list. States must be created prior to selection.
Enter a Zip Code for the division.
Select a County No from the drop-down list. Counties must be created prior to selection.
Select a Country No from the drop-down list. Countries must be created prior to selection.
Enter a Telephone No that represents the line of contact Represents the main or corporate office.
Enter a Telephone No Fax that represents the line for faxes.. Usually the main office or corporate fax line.
Enter a Telephone No Mobile that represents a single line of contact for an individual.
