Feed Mills

 

Feed Mills must be configured  prior to Feed Transactions. If the feed mill is a third party or external mill, a vendor must be assigned to the feed mill. As well, any mill that will be using the global post process requires that the Startup Date is defined for the first day of the global post period.

 

Prior to Creating Feed Mills, the following items must be created:

Create Feed Mill

  1. In Admin>Business>General>Definitions>Facilities, select Feed Mills.
  2. Select to create a new Feed Mill record.
  1. In the Feed Mill No field, enter a unique code for the feed mill (alphanumeric, max 20 characters).
  2. Enter the Feed Mill Name - a unique description for Feed Mill (alphanumeric, max 50 characters).

  3. Select the Cost Center No  for the feed mill.  Cost centers are only allowed to be assigned to one facility.

  4. Select the appropriate Facility Type. Options are as follows:

  5. Select the Vendor No that will be used when purchasing product from the feed mill. This option is required if the mill is a third party mill or if the mill is used in intercompany transactions.

  6. Enter the address line details in Address 1. (alphanumeric, maximum 30 characters)

  7. Enter the address line details in Address 2. (alphanumeric, maximum 30 characters)

  8. Select the City No for the feed mill. Cities are created in Admin>Business>General>Definitions>Cities.

  9. Select the State No. States are created in Admin>Business>General>Definitions>States.

  10. Select the County No  for the Feed Mill. Counties are created in Admin>Business>General>Definitions>Counties.

  11. Select the Country No  for the Feed Mill. Countries are created in Admin>Business>General>Definitions>Countries.

  12. Enter the Zip for the zip code or postal code.

  13. In the Telephone field, enter the telephone number for the mill.

  14. Enter the Fax number for the mill.

  15. Enter the Latitude  value for the Feed Mill. This field is optional, but if using the mapping tools, the field will be used for GPS coordinates.

  16. Enter the Longitude value for the Feed Mill. This field is optional, but if using the mapping tools, the field will be used for GPS coordinates.

  17. elect a Color to represent the mill in planning processes.

  18. Current Load No represents the most recently created load number for the facility.

  19. Current Ref No represents the most recently created reference number for the facility.

  20. Default Start Receive Time indicates the default start time for the mill.  Set to 12:00:00 if  the facility operates 24 hours per day.  The default start time will be used for creating planned receiving transactions.

  21. Startup Date defines the start date for the global post process for the mill.  All transactions prior to that date will be ignored for feed mill inventory valuation. Beginning inventory should be entered on the same date as the start-up date.  Defines beginning inventory date used by global post. If the startup date needs to be changed, select Options>Change Startup Date.
