Nutrients

 

When creating Ingredient and Feed Formula products, nutrients may be assigned to the product. Once the nutrients are defined, the values may be entered in the Ingredient Version or Feed Formula Version. Nutrients are also used in Nutrient Expressions for the FFA module.

Create Nutrient

  1. In Admin>Business>FMTS>FMIM, select Nutrients.

  2. Select to create a Nutrient.

  1. Enter a Nutrient No that will identify the nutrient.

  2. Enter Nutrient Name to describe the nutrient.

  3. The Energy  flag is selected for the feed formula and used in the calculation of nutrients when the /KC flag is selected

  4. /KC  is used to determine how the nutrient is calculated. If this flag is selected, then it only selects nutrient with the Energy flag marked and calculates the nutrient amount by taking the total nutrient and dividing by 1000.

  5. Nutrients can be assigned to specific Species Type or associated with all species. Options for species are: Chick, Duck, Layer, Turkey or Swine.

  6. The Unit Description is defined as the basis that the nutrient is measured per unit. Some examples are %, per gram, calories or kilojoules.

  7. Check Feed Tag Print if the nutrient is required to print on the feed tag,  If the nutrient is not required on the feed tag, then the option is not selected.

  8. Select Ratio to if the nutrition value is calculated based on two other nutrients.

  9. Select the Nutrient No Numerator for the ratio calculation. This option can only be selected if the Ratio option is selected.    

  10. Select the Nutrient No Denominator for the ratio calculation. This option can only be selected if the Ratio option is selected.

  11. Select the Active flag if the nutrient is active and de-select the flag if the nutrient becomes inactive.

  12. Save the record.
